During this weekend the Cumbres International School Toluca hosted an Open House event in which parents and children who are interested to become part of this community got to know the facilities and the main learning areas in which kids are to develop their skills.
During this event parents were presented on the main philosophy of this institute, and our mission “to educate reliable people, Catholic leaders to renew their society”, also the big emphasis given to the STEAM topics, meaning Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.
All this knowledge applied towards projects and ends to improve their community and solve everyday problems guided by the philosophy DIY “Do It Yourself”, this idea to promote self-sufficient individuals that are inclined to fix things by themselves instead of purchasing new ones being more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Finally, these parents got to experience a bit of the DIY philosophy by being handed a kit to assembly a Family Christmas Tree with LED lights and powered by batteries, this task could be completed by hand in company of their kids, who also were introduced to some electronic principles and the reach of this knowledge by joining it with the programming skills imparted in our technology courses.
This Open House Day was designed to unite the family and being a relaxing unique experience to get to know our Institute and all the principles imparted by all our teachers and throughout their schooling years, creating an auspicious environment for their intellectual and creative development in which their happiness is the central matter to be considered.
